Visit type and benefit eligibility determine GLP-1 access.

We checked MDLive’s public program and billing information on September 20, 2026. This review separates published terms from details that still require a personal quote; availability and offers can change.

The quick read

  • Visit type and benefit eligibility determine GLP-1 access.
  • The benefit-program FAQ describes its visit option as free for that program, but it does not establish universal free access or a medication-inclusive price. Confirm whether your own benefit includes the relevant visit and ask the pharmacy for the prescription cost. General MDLive access alone is insufficient.
  • Does my benefit include the specific visit that permits weight-management prescribing, and what are my visit and pharmacy costs?

The care model

MDLive’s general GLP-1 FAQ limits weight-management prescribing to Routine Care visits, subject to clinician judgment and state availability. It excludes urgent-care visits and primary-care wellness screenings from that pathway. A separate public weight-management program is described for people identified through an Express Scripts pharmacy benefit.

Published price and what it covers

The benefit-program FAQ describes its visit option as free for that program, but it does not establish universal free access or a medication-inclusive price. Confirm whether your own benefit includes the relevant visit and ask the pharmacy for the prescription cost. General MDLive access alone is insufficient.

Compare the amount due today and the recurring charge over the same period. Include care, medication, laboratory work and shipping wherever they are separate. Our GLP-1 cost guide explains that calculation.

Renewal, cancellation and open questions

MDLive’s cancellation policy lists a $25 Routine Care cancellation fee within two hours of the appointment. It says the policy is presented before booking and excludes Medicaid and Medicare members from the cancellation fee. Confirm the rule attached to the visit your benefit actually offers.

What matters when comparing this service

This comparison starts with the service you can book, rather than a broad platform name. A health plan may include some MDLive services but not the prescribing pathway in question. Verify the visit category, state eligibility and expected follow-up before assuming a general telehealth benefit covers ongoing weight care.

A question to take to the provider

Does my benefit include the specific visit that permits weight-management prescribing, and what are my visit and pharmacy costs?

Ask who prescribes, which pharmacy dispenses, and how to contact the clinical team between appointments. Request the payment and cancellation terms in writing. Our provider verification guide can help you check those responsibilities before paying.

Evidence and another useful comparison

This is research into public offers, not a patient-experience review. We have not enrolled, received treatment or independently measured service quality. Compounded medicines are not FDA-approved, and evidence for an approved product does not automatically establish equivalent results for another formulation. Read our formulation guide and discuss suitability with a licensed clinician.

For another care or payment model, see our Teladoc Health review. You can also search the provider directory. The CoreAge Rx review covers our featured commercial partner; that placement does not establish clinical superiority.
